In 2021 Mark Plaisted and Ben Pitt stormed to victory in the Australian Sidecar Championship at Olympic Park Speedway Mildura.
The boys fully deserved their place in the Championship final, but it was still somewhat of a boil over victory four laps later.
They came out of the hole like a bullet, rode smart and rode into the history books in front of Pitty’s hometown fans.
In 2022 with the title rescheduled to “Welby’s” home soil at Gillman Speedway the boys proved the A1 one year was no fluke with victory over the same three teams in the final.
With two decades of skin in the game, Mark Plaisted rocketed to back-to-back Aussie champ with his Mildura buddy.
Now they each have a National Championship triumph in front of their hometown fans.
And now, the idea of a hattrick come title time in Perth next year is not out of the question.
