Masters Series | Ron Krikke
Dual Australian Sprintcar Champion Ron Krikke is West Australia’s most celebrated Sprintcar pilot on a national scale winning both of his crowns at the monster sized Claremont Speedway – one in 1985 and the next in 1993.
The passionate and at times fiery Krikke has never shied away from controversy delighting his fanatical followers with his antics and uncompromising style and enraging those of his rivals.
In a career that glitters with Championships, USA vs WA Sprintcar Speedweek wins, World Series Sprintcars success, WA Sprintcar titles and multiple main event victories across his home state Krikke may have had the word “QUIT” on his top wing for many years but he never did.
Fiercely competitive “The Bunbury Bullet” enjoyed National and State title success driving for brother Peter in the Bunbury Toyota within only a handful of years after starting with no racing experience whatsoever.
Ron turned his hand to promoting as well with brother John successfully staging “the Krikke Boys Shootout” for over two decades as a tribute to their late sons Darryl and Jason.
Ron Krikke, like our catchcry, has always been a combination of ‘smooth and subtle or a whole lotta trouble’ – he’s our only West Aussie Master in a driver sense.
