Riding with Alan on this Road…

Alan’s journey started after listening to a guy talk about his prostate cancer diagnosis, which prompted Alan to get checked and led to his own diagnosis in 2016.

It came as a great shock as Alan didn’t have any symptoms or family history of the disease.

The road to recovery began, starting with surgery, along with radiation and chemo.

Although Alan is grateful for those treatments nothing can prepare you for the adverse physical and mental toll it takes on you as a person.

It is a roller coaster of emotions and one that you cannot ride alone.

This journey has urged Alan to support greater awareness and research through fundraising for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, who are dedicated to finding treatment options and hopefully one day a cure.

Alan says that whilst he can’t change what cancer has thrown at him he has learned not to take things for granted and to enjoy life to the fullest.
