Driven to Drive

“Leigh Adams – Driven to drive” is a fascinating documentary on a bucket list experience for ten times Australian Speedway Motorcycle Champion Leigh Adams and his quest to drive a Sprintcar as the ten-year anniversary approaches of his life changing injuries sustained from a crash at the Finke Desert Race in 2011.
During his competitive motorcycle career Leigh had always dreamed of racing a 900hp Sprintcar but the opportunity never came up.

When he was tragically paralysed whilst practicing for the Finke Desert Race (ironically after he had retired from international Speedway) the dream of one day driving a Sprintcar seemed now impossible.
The Hickman Racing Team had other ideas however and decided this was a bucket list that needed to be ticked for the Aussie Speedway icon.

“Driven to drive” is an emotional account of Leigh’s rehabilitation and his desire to realise a dream thanks to the generosity of a Bendigo family who configure their Sprintcar to a hand controlled throttle to allow him to do so.
It’s an inspirational story with a message – never ever give up on your dreams.
